English for Today- Foundation
🎉 By the end of Foundation, students are Language Explorers embarking on their first big adventure!
🗣️ Speaking & Listening:
Students listen carefully to stories, join in conversations, and create their own mini oral tales. They love retelling stories, sharing thoughts, preferences, and reporting information to an audience — just like little reporters or storytellers on a stage. They play with rhymes, letter patterns, and sounds (phonemes), and can blend and segment sounds in single-syllable words, like magical sound detectives!
📖 Reading & Viewing:
Students read and explore texts, spotting connections between characters, settings, and events — sometimes linking them to their own adventures. They notice how pictures and words work together to tell a story. They confidently name the letters of the alphabet, know the most common sounds, and read simple words like consonant–vowel–consonant (CVC) words and high-frequency words — unlocking the secret code of reading!
✍️ Writing & Creating:
Students create short written stories, using words and pictures to bring ideas to life. They retell, report, and express their thoughts, feelings, and key ideas. They experiment with forming letters, spelling CVC words, and playing with capital letters and full stops, like tiny authors practicing their craft.
💡 In short: By the end of Foundation, students are story detectives, sound magicians, reading adventurers, and budding authors, ready to explore the world of English one word at a time!
